The Christian life is a steady journey toward a glorious future: joyful life in a resurrected body, with Christ and His people, all of us mirroring His perfections… forever. Certainty of this future is proven by Christ's resurrection from the dead. And confidence in this future – what the Bible calls hope – is the atmosphere God's people are created to live in. As fish are born to live in water, so Christians are born again to live in hope. Do you live in hope? "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…," (1 Peter 1:3 NKJV). As a baby is born to grow toward maturity, so living hope is born to grow toward maturity in God's children. We know we're maturing when we live with a confident expectation of our future – no matter how difficult or scary our present circumstances.
