When asked by individuals what guides me in my approach to ministry and to life I usually tell them that it is my objective to be consistent in all I say and do. What I mean by that is that I want to practice what I profess and profess what I practice. Now this is how we should be before our children and families. We should be the same person all the time. Not one kind of person among the boys or girls or on the job and another in the congregation. And we should want this kind of consistency between our stated beliefs and actions to impact the life of our fellowship together. If we believe that God is to be the center of our lives and his glory the preeminent issue of life than we will want that our ministry and our times together at worship and service would always seek to let God be first. We will demand a message where God is at the center and not man. We will measure our ministries by asking and answering the question, does this reflect God? Is this consistent with who He is? Is this strategy or practice an expression of our belief in God’s sovereignty, or His holiness or His love and kindness? You see this is consistency.
