In this message expressing the deception of the Mel Gibson movie, The Passion of The Christ, Mr Greer outlined three main tenets of evangelical belief that are attacked, distorted and undermined by this movie. Consequently, the basic premise of Mr Greer’s message is that no true Gospel minister should endorse the movie or encourage people to view it.

Great Sermon! I never got around to watching this movie, I am glad that I missed it. I was going to rent the dvd but after listening to Mr. Greer preach from the Word I have changed my mind. It was interesting to learn again from the second comandment.

A wonderfully analytic sermon. The process followed in this sermon is marvellous; the critique of the “Passion of the Christ” is predicated by an explanation of 1 John 4:1-3, which perfectly articulates the foundation of opposition to this film. “The Passion” itself is dealt with completely, in the most analytical way I have yet heard, with focus on why those who profess in the Bible should not go to see this film – there is particular reference to the evangelical community, several references, as example, are made to Billy Graham and his unequivocal support for the film. Some challenges therefore are made to those evangelicals who have seen the film and espouse it as a means to bring sinners to Christ. I cannot recommend this sermon enough; it is 72 minutes better spent than being bombarded for 2 hours by Romish superstition and idolatry.
