Corinth was a cosmopolitan center of wealth and prosperity, well steeped in all the sins attendant upon such a society. Their gross sexual immorality and rampant idolatry has rivaled even that of the sewers of Sodom. Paul, weary from his previous hard-fought battles for truth, finds resentment and fear knocking at his door. Ready to throw in the towel, fearing that Corinth was too far gone for God to redeem, God's Word comes to comfort and encourage Paul. We may fear our surrounding culture is too far away from God for people to treasure His truth, too soaked in the sins of our carnal cravings for redemption, but nothing is impossible for the Lord. As our society follows the trends of the underbelly of ancient Corinth, we are at a precipice. Either we awaken to redeem the culture in which we live…or we give up...and watch as the final stage of this society's transformation into Sodom comes to pass. Join us on Sunday as we resume our series in the Book of Acts with a message entitled, "Faint Saints in Sin City."
