What drew the hurting to Jesus, was His heart . Before He fulfilled His purpose as the suffering servant, dying for the sins of the world, the people to whom He ministered did not fully understand, who He was or what He'd come to do. But one thing they did understand, is that when they were with Him, they were with someone who cared deeply about them. The word "pastor" comes from the Latin word for shepherd, and that's exactly how Jesus described Himself: "I am the good shepherd" (Jn.10:11). The way His Apostles carried on that pastoral ministry is critical to how the church shapes, trains and calls pastors who, "shepherd the flock of God" (1Pt.5:2). Join us for the next two Sunday's as we closely examine, "The Heart of a Pastor," as it's so beautifully modeled by the Apostle Paul.
