This message opens with some interesting events that have taken place that are easily connected to prophecies about the upcoming period known as the Great Tribulation. This is followed by the first in the series that studies God's perfect will. I this final stage of proving God's good, acceptable and perfect will, we need to think on a different level. God's perfect will is different from His good will and His acceptable will. As an example, was it God's perfect will that Jesus die on the cross to redeem the lost? No, it was his acceptable will. His perfect will was for Adam and Eve to obey Him. So in studying God's perfect will we need to start thinking beyond what is obvious to us and think more about God's motives. What does He want from each of us that He can't get for Himself? Even that question is misleading for us because we begin to think of all we do for Him to justify ourselves. What can we give Him that He hasn't given to us first? Actually all we do is give back to Him some of what He provided us with. When God put Adam and Eve in the garden to dress it and keep it did He give them tools? Did He give them a way to water the plants? Was His interest in how well they took care of the garden? Or was there a more important point to it all? The way we think is more like Cain who grew a garden and brought the best of his labor, but just like him we can easily miss the point.
