Peter, as a pastor/elder, in his closing comments was encouraging believers that had been scattered abroad in the persecution; he was encouraging them to trust the God of all grace in all of their sufferings. ~ Peter began his letter encouraging them & reminding them of their eternal inheritance in Christ/in heaven. 1 Peter 1:1-5 ~ Now, at the end of his letter, he is encouraging them (and us) to not lose heart or become cast down because of the sufferings and trials which they were enduring, but trust the God of all grace to strengthen them to continue in the faith of Christ & finish their course. ~ Don't ever forget that you and I are strangers and pilgrims in the earth; we are to TRUST in the God of all grace for our lives! - 1 Peter 1:1-5- Ephesians 2:8-9-
