Roman Catholic Church chained Bibles in the monasteries and also had it in Latin language - people could not understand.
Modernist Protestant Churches who do not preach repentance and faith in Christ are retaining the corn.
What about ourselves ? Do we talk to people about everything EXCEPT their need of a Saviour ?
ii) The Misery That Follows
"...the people shall curse him..." (v26)
People will rise up at the Judgement and curse modernist, apostate ministers who did not tell them the truth of a heaven to gain & a hell to shun.
What about us individually ? Will children point to parents and say, "you brought me up well, but never impressed upon me my need to be saved?" What about our work-mates ?
2. THE RELEASING OF THE CORN
i) Significance Of Making It Available
We have the store of the Gospel in our lives and Church - we MUST release it to the people, and get the message out. Every aspect of Church ministry must have this in view.
ii) Sequel To Releasing It
a) Gratitude of the people "blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. " (v26)
People will be thankful you ever crossed their path with the Gospel.
b) Favour Of God God will bless those who seek to win the lost for Him.
Are you unsaved ? We release the corn now to you - repent of your sins, and by faith accept the Lord Jesus as your Saviour. He waits to save!

Challenging Sermon ! I don`t remember hearing this verse preached on before, and didn`t realise the depths of truth that could be gleaned from it !
This is a sermon which will challenge Christians in their every day lives, about witnessing to others.
First of all Rev Elliott looks at the practical side of this verse, and then looks at the deeper, spiritual meaning.
This sermon will challenge us not to withhold the corn - the good news of the Gospel - but to release it to others, and as well as those people receiving a blessing, we will be blessed too !
It also carries a warning to apostate ministers who do not tell their congregation of their sin, and their need of a Saviour, and salvation.
I highly recommend this sermon !
