Just as was true for God's chosen people who were scattered throughout the ancient world during the First Century AD, so too, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Peter also exhorts and encourages all the saints of God today to rejoice even in the midst of suffering so that their faith may be proved genuine when Jesus Christ is revealed.
