Dr. Brunson presented a power-point presentation entitled “An Interdisciplinary and Diachronic Approach to Classical Education.” Using the metaphor of “History as Canvas and the Teacher as Artist,” the lecture covers how the Providence curriculum uses literature, art, theology, and philosophy as a “palette” from which to “paint” history. The lecture also provided a panoramic sweep of history from the pre-Socratic era to modernity, defining and illustrating such key historical eras and ideas as the Renaissance, Reformation, Enlightenment, romanticism, and postmodernism.
Dr. Brunson delivered this lecture at Providence Christian School of Texas.
