Sermon: THE GOSPEL'S ENEMY BECOMES FRIEND: EPILOGUE
Points: I. Peace and Edification II. Fear of the Lord and Comfort III. Continued Multiplication
Saul opposed the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in every way. He was present at the stoning of Stephen, he had made havoc of the Christian Church in Jerusalem. He scattered Christ's flock.
And while he meant it for evil, God meant it for good. Wherever believers went they shared and told of the wonderful grace of Jesus. As a result believers and the Christian Church spread to Judea and Samaria and beyond.
In our present passage we will see how the Lord Jesus repurposes Saul and equips him for the work of ministry.
IN THIS OUR FOURTH STUDY, we'll come to a pause and summary verse in the history of the New Testament Church. The events of Acts 1-9 have pretty well followed in a relatively short period of time of perhaps a 2 or 3 years.
With Acts 9:31 we have a summary verse which tells how things went for the next extended period of time. This message seemed to fit with the fact that we as a congregation were celebrating the Sacrament of the Lord' s Supper this Lord's Day.
