SERMON INFO
If someone tries to give you a gift and you refuse it, it offends the giver. Their gift has been rejected and their thoughtfulness toward you declined. How much greater the offense when the gift was the greatest gift of all time. God gave His only Son to make atonement for sin. When that gift is rejected, the Giver who is offended is Almighty God. His wrath is stored up for those who reject the gift, and how much greater for those who continually despise His grace.

Its Jesus' Blood and NOTHING e (8/3/2011)

“ Great Sermon! ”
I've read everyones comments. I was one that lived in bondage my entire 30+ christian years. It is nothing of ourselves that saves us...only the blood of Jesus Christ. We can do nothing to earn this wonderful gift. If this is the case, you are saying His blood saved us but it's up to us to keep our salvation by not sinning or making mistakes. I won't live in bondage any more. I am saved only because of the blood of Jesus and nothng of myself. When he died he died for my past, present and future sins. That is what makes me not want to sin against him..but in my flesh if I do, I'm already forgiven. Glory to His name!!!

Jeff is saying here that there are two types of people who can fall away: 1. Unbelievers who fall away having seen the miracles, heard the preaching, etc. They completely reject Jesus in their hearts and outwardly. (i.e Pharisees, Apostates, Judas). 2. Believers who partially fall away, (i.e like Peter who denied his Lord but did not really intend to; he outwardly rejected Christ, though not inwardly. This kind can still be saved or is still saved; they recover. It is not a total and deliberate falling away, but a stumbling.

“ Hmmm... ”
I cant recall who said it but I heard it preached recently by someone (even on sermonaudio perhaps) that this passage from Hebrews actually is referring to JEWS who made an initial confession for Christ but then were turned back to Judaism because of family pressure and peer pressure, etc. According to that interpretation, those Jews were "partakers of the Holy Spirit" in that they SAW the miracles of Jesus &/or the apostles, etc. Of course, this passage could refer not only to those Jews but a whole lot more, including people/apostates like what Jeff is preaching about here. A very hard passage.

I thought this was an excellent sermon.I believe the minute we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are on Holy Ground, and its impossible to ever want to leave that glorious position, even though we are still able to sin, but we should not take long to confess our sin and get back into Gods Grace. Thank you

Here are some verses for you. John 10:27-30 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one." And Romans 8:31-39 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.... Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am certain that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“ Question.... ”
Whether or not it is possible to fall away after tasting the good gift of God (I believe it is possible), is it really those that consciously, with a self-will and intentionally totally turn away from Christ? If a tree bears bad fruit but "wants" to bear good fruit, is that really worth anything?

“ Great Sermon! ”
If someone is truly born again, which is a supernatural act of God, then he cannot be unborn again and lose his salvation. study the doctrine of assurance, final perseverance of the saints, doctrine of eternal salvation. If someone totally falls away then he was never saved to begin with.

“ Great Sermon!...No no no not so ”
One can get there joy of salvation restored so how come you arrive at your conclussion that salvation cannot be restored,....Me thinks you have misread Hebrews 6 verses 1 -10

“ Without Theological Merit! ”
A careful reading of Scripture reveals that it is God's choice of who is compelled into the Kingdom, not yours or mine. I'm so thankful that it wasn't up to me, because like all other unbelievers, I was DEAD in my sins and trespasses, completely unable to even recognize what was Spiritually beneficial for me, let alone make that kind of choice. This is the primary reason why there are so many deceived- unsaved today in Church congregations around the world. John 10:25-30 tells the story for all those who are His!
