The fool may maintain “There is no God” – but his insistence does not change God’s existence. Unbelief does not alter facts!
The arrows men shoot up at heaven only fall on their own heads.
Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord that I should obey Him” (Exodus 5:2), but he found an answer to his scepticism at the Red Sea to his own destruction.
Evidently, God cannot be placed in a test-tube and analysed. You cannot do that with love either - though few will argue that love does not exist!
Accepting that God exists is a matter of faith (cf. Hebrews 11:3&6). However, it is not a blind or blinkered faith that tells us there is a God. There are many good evidences of His existence, including:
[1] THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS WORLD;
The Creation v. Evolution debate.
[2] THE CONSTITUTION OF MAN;
All men are aware of God’s Being, because He has stamped His image upon man’s soul and written His law in His conscience (Romans 2:14&15).
(a) Man has the ability to Reason – INTELLIGENCE.
(b) Man has a Moral Regulator – CONSCIENCE.
(c) Man has a Desire to Worship – REVERENCE.
[3] THE CONTENTS OF THE BIBLE;
Throughout Scripture God’s existence is treated as an indisputable fact!
These reasons leave us with responsibilities. We must discover:
• Who He is! • What He has done! • What He requires of us (Repentance + Reliance)!
