Abraham is the "Father of the faithful," and so we need to clearly understand how this patriarch came to have faith in the Lord. There are no differences! All of God's people are saved by God, in precisely the manner He saved Abraham. God gave Abraham evidences, God inspired faith in his heart, and God received him and justified him by faith alone.
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done," says Paul in Titus 3:5, speaking of New Testament believers. It is certain that Abraham was also saved by grace through faith, apart from any works of his flesh.
