Why is it that so often the Christian life seems to be a process of 'rowing against wind and wave'? Why do we seem to face more struggles AFTER we are converted than before? The fact is that trials and tribulations are normal in the Christian life, the world, the flesh, and the devil oppose us because by our conversion, they have become our enemies. God sends these trials into our lives not to destroy us, but train us, and perfect us. Through tribulations we are taught to stop depending upon ourselves and the world and instead to lean on God and His grace. It is in the midst of the storm that Christians are taught to walk by faith and not by sight.
Remember, there is One who always sees you and will come to you walking over the waves that threaten to swamp you. Jesus is the One who rules in heaven and earth, and has the power to still the tempest and bring your boat safely to the other shore.
