So David sat before the Lord thanking God for this gift and kept referring to himself as God's servant. This is the position that Godly leaders are to take--just as Christ came not to be served but to serve. It is the opposite of what we expect of a leader in our society. Now, since our Master and Lord has taken the position of a servant and we are not above Him, we also must server the Lord by worshiping Him and doing all our work for His glory.
