The Lord Jesus makes clear in our text that he would soon be departing. He would return to Heaven to be with God the Father. The religious leaders did not grasp the seriousness of His departure, for with it would come the end of a gracious opportunity. The words of Jesus present a solemn warning about presumption and taking God's grace for granted. Let us not miss the urgency of seeking Christ now!
