Today is Easter. People of all sorts make a big deal of Easter and Christmas. Jesus, however, figures but little in the celebration of days that are supposed to honor His birth and resurrection. Paul discourages NC believers from honoring days (Colossians 2:16; Galatians 4:10). Rather, we must honor Christ. It matters little when He was born, but it matters that He was born. Peter explains why believer's must rejoice in what God has prepared for them, even when they are called upon to suffer. God has great things in mind because Jesus came, suffered, died, but rose again. He is risen, His is reigning, and He is coming again.
