On Thursday, January 26, 2006, Ethan Embree (15) went out canoeing on the Elk River in Maryland, close to his house, and didn't return. His failure to return at dark led to a massive land and water search that lasted for two months, more or less, until his body was found on March 25, 2006 in the river.
Ethan Embree was a child of God and exemplified this wonderfully as young man. He was faithful, cheerful, kind, helpful, strong spiritually and physically, and serious about life. He was the oldest son and second oldest child in a family of seven children. He attended Immanuel Free Reformed Church with his family for over six months.
