Paul Revere's Good Friday Ride.Ephesians 6:10–18, KJV In the spirit of Paul Revere's legendary midnight ride, this Good Friday message sounds a spiritual alarm: "The enemy is coming!" Just as Revere rode through the dark streets of Boston warning that danger was near, the Apostle Paul rides through the pages of Scripture with a similar cry in Ephesians 6:10–18: "Put on the whole armour of God."This message draws a powerful parallel between the urgency of Revere's ride and the urgency of Christ's mission to the cross. On Good Friday, we remember that Jesus rode—not on horseback—but on a journey of suffering to secure our ultimate freedom. As darkness covered the earth and the forces of evil tried to overrun heaven's hope, Christ stood firm in the battle, wearing spiritual armor that could not be pierced. Paul's call in Ephesians 6 is more than metaphor—it is a manual for spiritual survival. As believers living in a world of spiritual warfare, we are called to suit up: The belt of truth in a world of lies, The breastplate of righteousness when sin runs rampant, The shield of faith to extinguish the fiery darts of doubt and despair. Just as the American Revolution needed a voice to awaken the people, the Church needs messengers today—riders like Paul Revere—willing to speak truth boldly, live righteously, and stand in the evil day. And here's the Good Friday message: The enemy has been defeated! At the cross, Christ didn't just warn of the battle—He won it. So let us take up the armor, take up the cross, and ride into Resurrection Sunday with the shout of victory on our lips!
