La iglesia es una instituci贸n divina de naturaleza universal, eterna e invisible, pero se manifiesta visible y temporalmente a trav茅s de iglesias locales organizadas bajo el mandato de la Palabra de Dios. Una iglesia b铆blicamente organizada necesita miembros convertidos, bautizados, instruidos y obedientes. Estos se comprometan con Dios, Su palabra, sus hermanos en Cristo y los ministros de esa iglesia local de manera consciente, voluntaria y solemne. Los ministros a su vez son miembros llamados a servir espiritualmente al pueblo de Dios en esa congregaci贸n bajo la autoridad de la Biblia. Una iglesia as铆 tiene autoridad, no de hombre, ni por hombre, sino de Cristo. Esa autoridad es corporativa, otorgada a todos los miembros como cuerpo; es espiritual, pues su esencia y objetivo es el bien espiritual de los miembros; y es derivada, pues no depende de la opini贸n o el dominio de ning煤n l铆der sino de Cristo a trav茅s de Su palabra.
