Text: Mark 16:1-8 | Speaker: Levi Bakerink | Description: From the start of his gospel Mark has invited us to see for ourselves who this Jesus of Nazareth is. And now, he lets the empty tomb have the last word. As the women arrive at the tomb, they find the stone already rolled away and an angelic messenger declares, "He is risen; here is not here." Yet the women leave fearful and trembling, saying nothing to anyone. Why would Mark end his gospel in such an anti-climactic way? He wants us to consider the empty tomb and the fearful response, and he asks us how we will respond to the news of the resurrection.
