In this section of the Bible, Jesus has already fed the five thousand, walked on the water, and fed the four thousand. Yet, His disciples still thought Jesus was talking to them about forgetting the bread. They kept repeating their ignorance. His disciples repeated what they had not learned from Jesus' previous miracles. In our circumstances, are we looking at our inability or the ability of the all-powerful Creator God? If we are going to do what God calls us to do, we must focus on gratitude to God in all circumstances. God commands us to be thankful. Ingratitude makes God angry. God gets the greater glory when the problem is bigger. We serve the God that has all power, all the time, and the display of His miraculous power does not diminish Him. Instead of blaming God for the evil that takes place, we should be giving Him thanks, knowing that He is in control of all things. We should never have the attitude that we desire God to do what we want. We must have a mindset where we ask in obedience according to God's word. We all make mistakes and are not to freak out when others or we make mistakes. However, this is not an excuse for sin. We are not to sin more so that God will forgive us. The reason God forgives us is because He wants us to be clean. Jesus does not just forgive us, and He perseveres for us. God does not forgive excuses. He does forgive sins. God is gracious, not only when we run out of bread but when we forget to bring it. The righteousness of Jesus is greater than the righteousness of the Pharisees and Sadducees. We cannot fix our problems; we need mercy and grace. Jesus provides both.
