Do You Believe? - Message 17 - Highlights from the Hall of Faith. As we come to the end of Hebrews 11 we take a brief look back at a few highlights to take away from this sermon series. First we take a fresh look at what faith is by reviewing verse 1. Secondly we notice how often the text tells us that these great men and women of faith did things "by faith." Third we are reminded that without faith it is impossible to please God by reviewing verse 6. Fourth we see that each of us who has placed our faith in Christ has been raised to new life after having been born dead in trespasses and sins. Verse 35 reminds us the power of faith in bringing the dead to new life. Fifth we remember that God has promised us something better than these faithful! We, in Christ, have a better way. Finally we conclude the message seeing that Habakkuk 2:4 serves as a summary for the whole chapter of Hebrews 11 and indeed for the whole of the Christian life. "The just shall live by faith."
