John Knox was a man that walked in a manner to which men were inspired to serve the Living God. In 1549, Knox fled to England as a result of persecution in Scotland. Knox had a heavy heart for the people of England and as a result was assigned to preach in an English city filled with filth called Berwick. Because of Knox's preaching of a Gospel of amputation, Berwick was transformed and became a safe haven for other Scotsmen. As a result of Berwick's transformation, Knox was being asked to preach before high government officials and the king of England. Knox had a direct hand in influencing many men of Egland that later became known as the Puritans.
