Every New Testament Gospel, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)builds up to Jesus’ Crucifixion and Resurrection and Ascension, and every account has its own unique emphasis. But I have a favorite Resurrection account that does not appear in any of the Gospels. In fact, it is not found in the New Testament at all. Despite that, my text promises a despised servant and a sacrificed lamb and a surprising burial and a risen hero and a satisfied God and a justified people! Sounds a lot like Easter, doesn’t it! Join me this morning in the Old Testament prophet, Isaiah, 52:13-53:12… the Suffering Servant Song. |
