Tonight we continue the section of Thomas Watson's study of the sixth petition of the Lord's Prayer (from his book by that title) that offers "rocks of support" as "comfort for tempted souls". Rocks 4-7 are covered this evening: 4) The best men may be most tempted; 5) Satan can go no further in tempting than God gives him leave; 6) It is not having a temptation that makes guilty, but giving consent to it; 7) Our being tempted is no sign of God's hating us; 8) Christ's temptation was for our consolation conquering as our head and representative thus we are more than conquerors in union with Him; 9) The saints' temptation shall not be above their strength but God makes a way to endure; 10) These temptations shall produce much good in us, such as to pray more and better and keep us humble.
