Family Worship Guide Memory Verses: 1 Peter 1:3-5Â
Day 1: Read Matt. 16:6-11 What was Jesus referring to? Why did the disciples not understand him? Read Matt.13:10-13 & 1 Cor. 2:14 and discuss: Why did Jesus often teach in this way?
Day 2: Read Luke 6:27-30 What were the four commands regarding treatment of our enemies? Who are the enemies in your life? That is, who are those you are most inclined to treat like a enemy? What specific prayers do you need to pray in order to repent of your lack of love towards your enemies? Tell someone else and pray together.
Day 3: Read Acts 16:35-37 & 22:25-29: Why was Paul even in these situations? In what specific ways has obedience to God's call and command brought about a similar situation in your own life? In what ways do you think Paul was tempted to react sinfully? Thinking back to your own situations, what happened? Did you react sinfully or – with God's help – did you react in a way that glorified God?
