The Lord Jesus died for the Church, gave His Holy Spirit to the Church, delivered the Word of God in the N.T. for His Church, gave elders to shepherd His Church through faithful preaching and teaching of the whole counsel of God, gave deacons to serve the needs of the Church, and gave fellow believers to encourage love and good works in His Church. We dare not neglect these excellent gifts of the Lord Jesus Christ, or we neglect our own souls and those of our children. Let's consider again what an authentic confession of Christ as Lord looks like.
