Aim: To love the God who gave us His eternal Word (Christ). Doctrine: The word of God is thoroughly indestructible. Its existence cannot be thwarted and its contents cannot be frustrated. Exegesis: The regenerative nature of the undying word: God can reproduce what sinful man destroys (vv. 27-28); God will restate what sinful man hopes to avert (vv. 29-31); God can augment what sinful man fears most (v. 32). Further application: The true churchman's resolve concerning the undying word: to accept its truthfulness (with reason and by faith), and to love the God who gave Christ to us. Key verse: v. 32 ''Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote on it at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them''
