Why do we doubt? It is because we have low thoughts of God, not because we lack promises to claim. God's promises are not deceptive. Here we are told that if we do not ask in faith, we will not receive. We need to do more than believe in the promises of God, we need to believe in the God who makes those promises to us. Though there is no merit in our faith, as it is a gift of God, we are to exercise that God-given faith without wavering--that is our responsibility.
