Do you use the expression, 'oh my gosh' or do you text or post on social media the letters, 'OMG'? These expressions and others like them are minced oaths and should not be used by true believers; for the Proverbs declare that 'The name of God is God.' As Pastor Simpson patiently and thoroughly teaches through the Proverbs, for our first-hour service, we have come to the tenth verse of chapter eighteen which speaks to the very name of The Lord is God. His name is who He is; it defines Him and it is Him. The Proverbs tell us, those who are born again, not those to be born again, to run into it and we find safety. The wise hold God's name is high esteem and are careful not to take it in vain; whether using a minced oath or His physical name, the wise believer will be careful to use God's name properly and with tremendous respect. Today's message on our wisdom series could be one listened to repeatedly. May God's name be honored among His church and His people.
