The woman with the issue of blood ran into three things that wanted to hold her back from reaching Jesus and receiving the healing she so needed in her life. There was the mental problems or obstacles. She saw others in line ahead of her and some far worse off; these things will try to tell us as they did her that we aren’t that important to God. The voices will call out that God is just too busy or to remember our past failures and accept that we can’t get the healing needed. The physical problems seem impossible to overcome she had suffered so long and wasted all her money on the latest gadget only to not get better. For us how many times do we miss out on something because we let the simplest thing stand in our way. The cold we had kept us from going to church when it really wasn’t that bad and the like. Then there are the spiritual problems; those sins that come into our lives and say now you are disqualified from God’s mercy because you are now spiritually unclean. All these things may look like mountains blocking the pass but in reality they are little pebbles that have to be dealt with. They want to hold us back but Jesus wants us to make the effort and when we do we will be rewarded. She got what she needed, will we?
