In coming to the Lord's Table, and partaking of physical elements, and rejecting the blasphemy of the Catholic mass, we must not go so far as to consider the elements as merely physically received. On the contrary, the Scriptures and the Confession make it clear that there is a strong spiritual and inward aspect to the taking of the elements by faith. Hence the need to be a worthy partaker, lest we eat and drink a judgment upon ourselves:
