Martyn Lloyd-Jones once wrote: “Prayer is beyond any question the highest activity of the human soul. Man is at his greatest and highest when upon his knees he comes face to face with God”. 1 Thess 5:17 says we are to "pray without ceasing." I'm going to guess that every single person here has heard a pastor stand up and preach about this passage, and every pastor I have heard speak about prayer will say pretty much the same thing. Have you ever heard this, referring to "Pray without ceasing," "This is talking about an attitude of prayer. " This term refers to quote: 68.55 ἀδιάλειπτος, ον; ἀδιαλείπτως: pertaining to not ceasing from some continuous activity—‘not ceasing, not stopping, unceasingly, continuously.’ ἀδιάλειπτος: ὡς ἀδιάλειπτον ἔχω τὴν περὶ σοῦ μνείαν ‘as I unceasingly remember you’ 2 Tm 1:3. ἀδιαλείπτως: ἡμεῖς εὐχαριστοῦμεν τῷ θεῷ ἀδιαλείπτως ‘we give thanks unceasingly to God’ 1 Th 2:13. Romans 9:1–3 I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit that I have great sorrow and unceasing (as in incessant constant never ending) anguish in my heart. 2 Timothy 1:3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. Both unceasingly and constantly come from the same word in the Greek which is adialeiptos; In each case we are speaking of a present active imperative, a command of immediacy. This is not an "attitude of Prayer" as it would be a heart of prayer, because of desperate need. This is James 5:16"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man. Or you could say The Passionate Desperate Prayers of a righteous man
