“These all died in faith, NOT having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”
Abraham did not live to see the fulfilment of the promises in all their fulness and glory. Nor did Isaac. Nor did Jacob. Nor did any of the heroes of faith listed in Hebrews 11.
However, they knew - and believed implicitly - that every last one of those promises would be accomplished in God's own good time.
Now, in heaven, they rejoice in the fulfilment of them!
And we, upon the earth, have the privilege of lifting the glorious promises regarding Christ and His kingdom for which they laboured and lived, but had to leave!

Magnificent sermon That was a sermon that is worth listening to many, many times. It has encouraged me to continue to dig into God's Word to find the promises and grab as many as I can. Keep on putting sermons that speak volumes. In Christ, Bruce Lantto Isa 12:2
