Money Matters Malachi's Mighty Ministry Lurgan Baptist Church
“ Context Matters ” Listened to this message. Pastor Lyle erred in teaching it as he did. Malachi was not speaking of a monetary tithe. Nor was he speaking of the congregation.
In verse 7, Malachi called for a return to God's ordinances. God's ordinance of tithing said that God's tithe was to be agricultural...not monetary. (see Leviticus 27:30-33) Further, God's tithe ordinance also decreed that the congregation was not to tithe to the House of God. (see Numbers 18:21-26)
As men called into the Gospel Ministry, we need to preach the word...not opinion that contradicts the word. So many pastors overlook the facts.
