Today we enter into a new and exciting section of Genesis and of the Big Story of the Bible. Gen 1-11 laid the groundwork for what we are about to read. All these things were setting the stage for a display of God's glory. Before the foundation of the world, God established His plan of redeeming sinners through Jesus Christ. We are about to see that plan break into human history. As is always the case in salvation, God took the initiative. There was nothing special about Abram that deserved God's mercy, but God in His grace and love reached down into sinful humanity and chose to save Abram and have a relationship with Him. 1) The Call from God – v.1-3 In Genesis 12 Abraham is called to leave his past and security out of simple trust in God's promises. Perhaps God is calling some of us to do that this morning. I have a place for you to be. I have a direction for you in your life such as you have not laid hold of yet. Are you prepared to obey if God would call you to leave everything that represents security to you?
2) The Obedience to God – v.4-6 V4-5 tell us of Abram's obedience to God and v6-9 speak of Abram's Worship of God.
