the evening sermon will also be from the book of John, this time chapter 21.15-19 and help from Canons of Dort 5.13a. We will divide that article because there are two main matters we need to focus on there, from God's Word. This sermon looks carefully at Jesus questioning Peter about him disowning Christ three times. Why three times? What do we do with Peter being "hurt" by that third question? What do we learn from Jesus saying Peter would die in a certain way? How do we understand the seriousness with which the restored Christian takes striving after holiness? We will address these matters in our evening sermon. Christ will apply balm to our hearts in His spiritual doctoring of us. ------------ Scripture Reading: John 21.15-19 Confessional Reading: Canons of Dort 5.13a Text: John 21:15-19 Sermon: "Restored, Recovered: Remain!" ---------------- Theme: Those renewed by grace after sinning earnestly strive to remain in Christ
