God's Sovereignty of Easter. Acts 2:22-24The sovereignty of God is the belief that all things are under God's rule and control, and that nothing happens without his direction or permission. This means that God works all things according to the counsel of his will. The Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost and feels the believers. Peter, who wants to know the Savior out of fear, now preaches boldly to a huge crowd sharing the gospel. We see. This sounds. The sights and the speeches. At Pentecost. The men in the crowd, Jews have come from over dozens of foreign countries to attend the feast of Pentecost. They're amazed to hear their own languages being spoken by the apostles. The people in the crowd ask each other what can this mean? Some say they're drunk, that's all. But Peter addresses the crowd. And he says, some of you are saying these people are drunk. It isn't true. Peter tells the crowd that the prophet Joel foretold of all of this in Joel 2:28-32. Joel wrote about the coming of the Holy Spirit. The signs of God. And the salvation of God. When we look at the sovereignty of God at Easter. He's telling us and the words of Peter, the plan of salvation came about because a man named Jesus Christ went to an old rugged cross and died between heaven and earth to pay the sin debt of the entire world. He died for you on the cross and according to the Bible he got up the third day and he still lives to save every one of us that are lost at this moment. Its power lies in the fact that Jesus Christ shed his innocent blood to pay for sin, and then he arose from the dead to offer eternal life to all who receive him by faith.
