In this study we consider the basic biblical ethics of sex and how it relates to men and women as married and single.
This study includes statistics from Statistics Canada on marriage and co-habitation trends in Canada. We also consider the history of the church's understanding of the sexual ethic from early church, medieval church, reformation church and the views of the puritans. We consider the basic biblical ethic and its sources in scripture and finally consider why Jesus lived as a celibate man and yet chose to refer to himself as the bridegroom. This study concludes with a consideration of the cessation of sexual relations in the coming age and what this teaches about the meaning and purpose of sex.
