Think for a moment with me. What did you worry about this last week? The last few days? What annoyed you about other people—something that you wish you could change? If we could play an audio CD or a video clip of the last two days of your life, where would others see discontentment growing as a weed in the garden of your life? Worry, being annoyed or expressing discontentment can all be elements of what the Bible calls “fretting.” Fretting is like an acid that corrodes our soul. It gnaws away at the very center of our lives.
