“The Idol of Diversity!” I Text: Old Covenant: (Isaiah 9:1-7) New Covenant: (Revelation 7:9-17) II Doctrine: The Government of Jesus Christ with its attendant law and commands is the only way to achieve peace in a sinful world. Without the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit diverse Men and Nations will always be at war. Diversity of people without the unity of the gospel will only lead to greater problems. Christians must not copy the humanist culture and believe diversity is a cure for all of our problems. The modern cult of diversity is actually a racist principal which evaluates people based on the color of their skin. Christianity must warn people God will judge them based on the saving blood of Jesus Christ. All racial groups must be “crimson red” in color to be saved. We will have unity through revival in the World or revolution through diversity without Jesus. III Reasons: 1) People of similar racial and ethnic background without Christ will kill each other. (Judges 20:1-11; World War 1&2; Rwanda, rape of Nanking) 2) If similar people groups cannot live together how can diversity create peace? 3) Forced diversity has always been a source of conflict. This strategy has been used by empires to gain political power over their enemies. IV Application: 1) The answer to create peace amongst a homogenous or diverse people group is always the Gospel. (Matthew 28:16-20; 2 John) 2) The Kingdom of our Lord will continue to grow while Man made Kingdoms crumble. Only Christian unity can overcome ethnic and racial diversity. (Psalm 127; John 2:12-17)
