A husband never goes to God in prayer only to find him to busy. God never says to a husband, “Not now! Why couldn't you have brought this up earlier. Why do you always wait till bedtime!?” No, God is willing to listen graciously and mercifully to us at anytime, anyplace on any issue and if we love our wives as Christ loves the church our emotional support of her will include an unrestricted listening ear. If we love our wives as Christ loves the church we will be willing to talk with her at anytime on any subject. We will never tire of assuring her of our love. We will never tire of assuring her of our commitment to the marriage. We will never tire of being transparent in all areas concerning who we are and what we are about. No where in marriage is the husband more hypocritical than in this area with his wife. The same husband who constantly night and day goes to the Lord in prayer. Who constantly looks to God through the Word for tenderness, for encouragement, for reassurance and for an understanding of who God is and what He is about, this same husband resents his wife's need f
