The Good Samaritan teaches: Lesson 1: Love is ______________ versus ________________. Lesson 2: (Part I) _______________________ that your neighbor is anyone God puts in your path (Part II) ________ __ legitimate need. Lesson 3: ___________________ that we can't "inherit eternal life" by works. Lesson 4: __________ ____ ______ true and greater Good Samaritan. Family Worship Guide Memory Verses: Isaiah 46:3-4 Day 1: Read Luke 10:25-37 Define love, as it is used in this passage. How would you separate that definition from what you mean when you say, "I love popcorn" or even "I love you"? What do we typically mean when you use the word "love" in those everyday ways? Examine yourself and prayerfully consider who you claim to "love". Is there evidence in the actions you take for them? Day 2: Read Luke 10:25-37 Think about those who are neither family or friends for a moment. List out the 5 nearest neighbors you have. Do you know their names? List out the 5 people you see most often when you are going about your weekly routines. Do you know their names? Pray for opportunities to demonstrate "love" towards these people. If you had an opportunity to say the gospel to them or to pray for them (a prayer full of the truth of the gospel), what would that look like? Ask God to give you such an opportunity with at least one of the 10 people you have just listed. Day 3: Read Luke 10:25-37 How can you tell if someone has a "legitimate" need? How could you get some help to make sure your thinking is accurate? Rather than what someone is asking for, what are some examples of something you have done for someone instead? What specific aspect of this type of Christ is most precious to you?
