One could argue that revival took place in Jonah's heart, but if that were the case where was his heart for the Ninevites? He still hated them and was disappointed that God saved them. (Jon.3:10 - 4:1) No doubt there was an outpouring of his Spirit and a Great work, but if there was no church to pour out his Spirit on, then there was no revival.
