Jesus: The Shadow's Substance - Message 5 - Jesus the Apostle. We are reminded here to remember our heavenly calling as holy brethren by considering (to give give complete, diligent attention to) our Apostle and High Priest, Jesus Christ. We know who the Apostles are, so why would the writer of Hebrews refer to Jesus as an Apostle? He is an Apostle because He has been sent by the Father to be God's representative among men in order to seek and save the lost, leading them from bondage to the Father's House. As our High Priest He i our representative before God and offers Himself as the sacrifice for our sin. In considering Jesus, the reader/hearer is reminded about how Moses serves a part of the foreshadowing and a type of Christ as we are called to be His holy people and are built up into His House.
