Noah was not chosen to build the ark and survive the flood and repopulate the earth by any arbitrary choice of God. God made a covenant with Noah, which is a mutual promise. God promised Noah some things, and Noah promised God some things. Salvation is a covenant, also. We promise God to trust his promises to us. All that God told Noah about the world-wide judgement that was coming, and how to build the ark, would have availed nothing if Noah had not obeyed God's commands. Because he believed God's promises, he obeyed God's commands. It is going to be the same way when Jesus comes for his bride.
