Who places their hope in a dead man? If Christ has not been raised then Christian faith is useless and those who have put their hope in Christ are '...to be pitied more than all men.' The resurrection is central to the apostolic gospel - without it the solution of the cross to the human heart and conscience is no solution at all but instead a cruel lie that has no power to save. The resurrection declares that not only has he made a full end of sin but has also become for us our living Lord in whom we live and trust. Apostolic Christianity lived in the joy and boldness of the resurrection - no less should we!
