Think “What would Jesus do?” before you react to anything or anyone. You can't go wrong if you practice the lessons herein.
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come. 21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Jesus makes a declaration to the Jewish people: I've come, you've rejected me, and you can't come where I'm going. 22 Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come. In those times, people believed if you committed suicide you couldn't go to heaven. That's what they thought Jesus was going to do. On a side note, suicide is not a straight ticket to hell or purgatory. Let God be the judge of that. Pray for the family, give them comfort; you do not know all the circumstances leading up to the tragic event. Be careful because people are hurt. Suicide as an unpardonable sin is not in scripture. 23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. This means the world system of mankind that is set up to oppose God. It's been that way since the beginning of history, and its still that way. Greed is the powerful aspiration in the world system, not God. 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am, ye shall die in your sins. The Jews are His people, but they reject Him and the saving grace He provides. Jesus Christ is claiming to be Jehovah of the Old Testament right here.25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou?
